Could Top Gear star Jeremy Clarkson be returning to the BBC?
Presenter does his first public interview since his infamous fracas
In what seems to be a saga as long-winded as Game of Thrones, Jeremy Clarkson has finally utilised his vocal chords in his first interview since his now infamous (and slightly ludicrous) Top Gear fracas.
Appearing on Chris Evan’s BBC Radio 2 show, Clarkson admitted being at fault for his fisticuffs attack on producer Oisin Tymon, saying: “It was my own silly fault so I can hardly complain.”
Adding: “It was very much my baby, I absolutely adored it and I worked all the time on it, I worked all through the night on it.
“And then suddenly you’re not asked to do that anymore, and you do feel that there is a big hole which does need to be filled.”
Not that his current unemployment seems to be holding him back, speaking of his now ultra-hectic Top Gear-less life, Clarkson said he was busier than ever, quipping: “I’m just getting really good at tennis."
Perhaps most interestingly for fans of the hit motoring show though was the presenters hint at a possible return to the BBC.
Discussing the broadcasters, DJ Evans said: “James [May] and Richard [Hammond] can go back to the BBC, that door is still open for them…” before being stopped by Clarkson saying: “Well so can I, you know, I’m not sacked, remember.”
He also reassured fans that the famous Top Gear live show will still be going ahead and little will have changed other than the name.
