It must be the sea air.
One football fan very firmly stepped over the line from brave to foolhardy by gamely attempting to fight the entire away end - on his own.
As his team Southend United were coasting to a comfortable 3-0 win over fellow League One side, and local rivals Colchester United, he decided to leave his seat, go across the pitch and have it out with the 1,312 visiting fans in the North Stand at Roots Hall.
Thankfully, although the man was throwing punches, stewards managed to intervene before any actual connections took place. Police are now investigating the incident and a football banning order is likely to follow if the man is identified.
PC Niki Howard, Colchester's football officer released a statement on Twitter saying that an investigation would be launched.
Let's hope they find the man responsible and administer appropriate justice. Although probably just letting him in the home end at the next Colchester game would probably do the trick.
