We're undoubtedly going to be seeing a fair few penalty shoot-outs in the coming weeks (and, if you're a Leyton Orient fan, you've already seen one too many), but we'd be pretty surprised if anyone whipped this routine out in Brazil.
Maldives player Ashad Ali Adubarey premiered this cunning 'trip' penalty during a shootout at the end of the third/fourth play-off game for the AFC Challenge Cup.
Appearing to pretend to trip, he then immediately gets up and then plants the penalty past the bemused Afghanistan goalkeeper. Argument has raged about its legality, but the referee allowed it to stand: Maldives went on to win the shootout 9-8.
Forget the panenka: this is our new favourite.
