Ryan Gosling and Damien Chazelle's next collaboration has its release date
La La Land 2: Electric Boogaloo?
Did you see La La Land? Stupid question, everyone did. Apart from me, obviously – I found merely the trailer so intensely annoying that I couldn’t even make it to the end of that. I may never watch it. But hey, that’s just me – don’t trust my opinion, I still fucking watch Power Rangers.
Anyway, the power team of writer/director Damien Chazelle and star Ryan Gosling have already set their next collaboration into motion.
The film will be called First Man, and will be about Neil Armstrong, that bloke that walked on the sun or whatever it was, and Gosling will be playing him, hopefully without a silly spring in his step. Or, maybe a spring in his step is exactly what he needs – he’s on the moon. An even bigger spring? It’s all very confusing.
It will be penned by Spotlight’s writer, Josh Singer, and adapted from the book First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong by James Hansen. It’s already got a release date too – it’s all set for October 12th, 2018, which you’ll notice is conveniently just in time for awards season – how handy.
And as a special extra ShortList exclusive, we’ve managed to get our hands on some first look footage. Check it out below:
