David Attenborough has revealed his biggest regret in life
And he has some thoughts on life after death
David Attenborough has lived a pretty amazing life, when you think of it. Travelling the world, seeing amazing places, being a verifiable National Treasure: he’s had an alright time of it, hasn’t he?
That doesn’t mean he’s regret-free, however. In a new interview with the Radio Times, Dave has shared his life’s biggest regret: not spending enough time with his children as they grew up.
“If you have a child of six or eight and you miss three months of his or her life, it's irreplaceable. You miss something,” he said. “Perhaps you can't have your cake and eat it.”
But Attenborough’s late wife, Jane, was “very understanding”, which is nice.
The interview did get a bit gloomy, with Attenborough saying he thinks about mortality “all the time”. “It’s more and more likely that I’m going to die tomorrow,” he said. He’s also rightfully concerned about global warming.
"We should be very, very worried about it... the land is being scorched, deserts are spreading, and the seas are warming - all those factors cause great changes in our fortunes."
And as for whether something happens to us after death? “No.”
So there we have it. Attenborough said it, so it must be true. Sorry.
