David Cameron’s reaction to Mourinho’s sacking is actually pretty funny (makes a change)
Sick burn, Dave
Spare a thought for poor Jose Mourinho.
Sacked as manager of Chelsea minutes after leaving the club’s Christmas lunch yesterday, and immediately spoofed on social media, now even the Prime Minister has made a jibe about his dismissal.
Asked about the Special One's departure by ITV News, David Cameron quipped: "The PM is always sad to see anyone lose their job but he would point to the 740k vacancies in UK economy."
Which, for our money, is brilliant. It certainly puts things into perspective anyway: with thousands of jobless who depend on benefits to put bread on the table every week, should the fate of one multi-millionaire likely to waltz into another big money job really elicit nationwide sympathy?
Compounding a poor week for the Portuguese manager, these still won't be words Jose will have wanted to hear.
Though it could have been worse. He could have asked Jose to manage his team one day: West Ham. Wait, no, we mean Aston Villa.
