There's an airline security joke lingering around the latest Converse CONS Weapon, but we're better than that. Let's skip the tasteless shoe bomb jokes and head straight to praising some of the best looking shoes of the summer, yeah?
The classic basketball trainer of the 80s, the CONS Weapon has been given a full style overhaul - and looks all the better for it. The sporting heritage of a shoe that propelled Magic Johnson to fame has been maintained, while taking on a modern, urban tone.
One of five new releases in the CONS Weapon line up, the 'Ray Pack' seen here sports a heathered contrast build, created using fine cotton put through a slow-craft jersey production technique. The result is a quilted, grained fabric that contrasts with the rubber soles and paint-flecked Y-bars. The innards of the Weapon have also been given a rebuild; memory foam coats the internal Y-Bar, alongside a plush marbled EVA sockliner.
Available in Charcoal and Light Gray, these latest Weapons are available from Converse retailers from today.
