Yes, it might only be July, but get writing that list to Santa right now, because this book is going to be top of it.
The third Alan Partridge book, following in the white-hot paper-prints of Bouncing Back (now out of print) and I, Partridge, has been announced, and it looks utterly glorious.
Book of the net!
The synopsis of the book reads thusly:
"In Alan Partridge: Nomad, Alan dons his boots, windcheater and scarf and embarks on an odyssey through a place he once knew - it's called Britain - intent on completing a journey of immense personal significance.
"Diarising his ramble in the form of a 'journey journal', Alan details the people and places he encounters, ruminates on matters large and small and, on a final leg fraught with danger, becomes - not a man (because he was one to start off with) - but a better, more inspiring example of a man.
"This deeply personal book is divided into chapters and has a colour photograph on the front cover. It is deeply personal. Through witty vignettes, heavy essays and nod-inducing pieces of wisdom, Alan shines a light on the nooks of the nation and the crannies of himself, making this a biography that biographs the biographer while also biographing bits of Britain."
We suspect this book may be deeply personal.
It's been written by Steve Coogan alongside Rob Gibbons and Neil Gibbons - the same team that created his autobiography and who have worked on the recent Mid-Morning Matters series - although 'Alan Partridge' is listed as the official author this time around.
The hardcover version is released 20 October and is available to preorder via Amazon, though if it's anything like I, Partridge, you will want to also buy the audiobook which will undoubtedly be read in Alan's dulcet tones.
The official new biography for Partridge, which has been released for retailers to use is: "Alan Partridge presents Mid-Morning Matters on North Norfolk Digital. Broadcaster, writer, motivational speaker, sports fan, thought-leader, businessman, and consummate professional, Alan enjoys bitter shandy, shandied lager, high-end knitwear and personal success. He is currently doing very well."
