Device fully charges your smartphone in 30 seconds
Call us conspiracy theorists, but don’t you find it strange how we can put people on the moon, cram the entire back-catalogue of Bruce Springsteen onto a microchip, yet can’t invent a smartphone battery that lasts upwards of a day?
New World Order grumbles aside (for now), we may just have found a solution. Let us introduce you to the new prototype battery charging pack from Israeli tech brand StoreDot.
Showcased earlier this week at a Microsoft Think Next event in Tel Aviv, the device had crowds looking on enviously as it fully charged smartphones in 30 seconds - yes, 30 seconds, about the time it takes to digest a badly spelt text from your mum - and it's a ludicrous speed the makers claim is achieved via the use of microscopic magnets known as ‘nanodots’.
For a better look at this mind-boggling battery charging, take a look at the video below. Though don’t expect as short a wait for the general release of the charger - it's slated for sometime in 2016.
Try not to throw your battery out of the window until then.
