Did Indiana Jones & The Crystal Skull predict the Trump presidency?

The return of Indiana Jones in 2008, after a 19 year break, was an unexpected move, with Harrison Ford dusting off his fedora to team up once again with Steven Spielberg.

However, The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull received a mixed reception from critics and audiences alike, who weren’t sure whether it lived up to the standard of the classic original trilogy.

But now, it seems that it’s time to reappraise the film, because it appears to have been a prophetic telling of our times: nothing less than a cinematic Nostradamus, predicting the story of Donald Trump’s successful run for the Presidency and his current ‘issues’ with Russia.

Indiewire film critic David Ehrlich is the man who has spotted the unerring similarities, stating: “If only we hadn’t dismissed this prophetic film, perhaps we could have avoided our current nightmare”.
