Donald Trump's former hairdresser has just revealed the truth about his mop
Why's it so big? Is it a wig? These are at least two of the endless questions that Donald Trump's former hairdresser Amy Lasch has revealed about the mogul's mop.
Speaking out for the first time, the 52-year-old described Trump's blonde dye job as a "calamity" and - most importantly of all - said his hair was "solid and matted" because of the amount of product he liked to use.
However, there is no wig.
“He has really long hair and he combs it back straight. He does it himself. It is real and it is his hair – he doesn’t have plugs," she said.
Amy styled Trump's hair during the filming of The Apprentice, and it doesn't sound like it was a pleasant experience. “When I looked at the back of his hair I could tell it was not a hairdresser cutting it. It was scary. It was just cut in a straight line.
“The colour was so inconsistent. It was not done correctly. They just coloured the top and did not colour what was underneath properly.
“It was someone in his inner-circle who was cutting and colouring his hair. His wife or maybe his daughter.”
Trump used to arrive on set with his hair styled to his liking, and Amy was simply responsible for the upkeep.
“He used a spray with a stickiness to hold it in place. It was not up to me to change what he looks like – I couldn’t do that in a few minutes on a set. I would take my comb and point out what I would like to fix and he would normally fix it himself. I did comb the back and did the sides a bit. But everything was solid. It was matted to stay put. I tapped it with my comb and it would bounce back," she revealed.
If you've finished feeling slightly sick and/or hyperventilating into a bag, Amy concluded the whole exposé with a wonderfully poignant quote.
“He’s been combing his hair in the same way since the 1980s," she said. “What I don’t like about that is that he is afraid of change.”
