The Lancia Stratos HF Zero. The Firebird I XP-21. The Bugatti Type 57S Aerolithe. These names will either do nothing for you, or push a Pavlovian button that now requires you to go and sniff some petrol.
Each of the aforementioned ethereal concept vehicles, along with many others, will be drawing crowds to the halls of Atlanta's High Museum of Art for the special exhibition, Dream Cars: Innovative Design, Visionary Ideas.
From unique electric dreams to never-made concept designs, the exhibition will pay host 17 of the rarest cars on the planet, along with a collection of sketches, concept drawings and auto artwork.
Those of us unable to make the trip will have to settle for the coffee-table version of the experience: the exhibit's assistant curator Ken Gross has handily written a tome on the same subject due out 27 May.
