Dubai's Crown Prince just showed Instagram how mad storms in Dubai get
They look a bit like the end of the world.

11 March 2016
Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktou, aka the Crown Prince of Dubai, aka Fazza, aka Instagram user @faz3, captured a lightning storm over Dubai at an insanely high frame-rate, slowing it down into something - well, something that's still pretty damn fast.
The 1,977fps video is weirdly, eerily hypnotic. Also, holy shit, Dubai is basically a collection of enormous lightning magnets in the middle of a huge expanse of desert. The Burj Khalifa (the incredibly tall building in the middle, which towers 829 metres up) is like a huge middle finger pointed at the sky, daring it to bring some lightning.
