END Clothing and Timex collab on ace update of a classic watch
What time is it? It's 'buying yourself a nice new watch for Christmas' time
What time is it? It’s ‘buying yourself a nice new watch for Christmas’ time. Or at least for someone you care about who is always late: call it a mutually beneficial gift.
Originating in Newcastle, END Clothing have grown into one of the UK’s preeminent menswear stores, and with success comes collaborations galore. This time END team up with timepiece veterans Timex for the Timepiece Project .01: coming with changeable straps (handy, since strap versatility has always been one of our favourite things about Timex) and a bespoke maple wooden carry case, the watch riffs on the classic Navi Ocean. You’re unlikely to find many watches under £150 that even come close to this one.
Mixing contemporary style with traditional engineering, the Timepiece Project .01 features a stainless-steel case finished with a worn-in patina and scalloped rotating bezel and is perfect for adding what END call “some extra mid-century charm”. Although, that said, the watch is, ironically enough for a watch, timeless: the simply-designed face meaning that it’ll never go out of style, staying with you even as your social life comes to a stop, and you have no reason to even think about things like ‘clocks’ anymore.
