One of the many unpredictable facets of grief is that it affects us all in different ways. While some of us embrace the sadness, others deny its very existence.
And then there are others who just take their clothes off and show their privates for the world to see.
Last night, England as a nation suffered, and as Diamanti scored Italy's winning penalty, one distraught England fan decided to take his trousers off to deal with the melancholy, or in an attempt to put the Italian off.
It was a daring move and one which Italian journalist Manuel Monzani was brave enough to spot and then share with the world.
So while England's footballing skills might be a little shaky, its ability to flash at the drop of a hat is still unparalleled. Let's, ermmm, drink to that.
