“Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country” The Kennedy family did quite a lot for its country: one son became president and the other a presidential nominee, and were both assassinated because of it.
It wasn’t a family without its own infamy, however. Internal power struggles and tabloid scandals are proof of that, and a blockbuster US mini-series starring Greg Kinnear as JFK and Katie Holmes as wife Jacqueline is set to gets tongues wagging once again and paint the family in its rawest light yet.
Early scripts of The Kennedys prompted outrage from the modern-day Kennedy dynasty before filming even began, and as these exclusive images show (the pair arriving at Dallas airport on the day of JFK's assassination; and the man making a speech after the unsuccessful Bay of Pigs mission) there's enough shine to assume this could become another epic television import.
Bolstered by a strong supporting cast, the $30m production will see Barry Pepper support as JFK’s brother Bobby and the ever reliable Tom Wilkinson as their father Joseph. Though we're still waiting to see who’s playing the gunman on that day in Dallas and whether he's anywhere near a grassy knoll.
