The design world lost one of its great pioneers when the legendary Storm Thorgerson died in April this year.
He was undoubtedly most famous for creating a series of iconic record sleeve covers for the likes of Pink Floyd, Muse, Peter Gabriel and Led Zeppelin and his life and work is celebrated at an exhibition, entitled 'The Gathering Storm, which runs until December 1st at a brand new venue, The Proud Archivist in London.
To celebrate, we've been given an exclusive image from StormStudios: a photograph for a Japanese Creative Agency called Six Inc, which was one of the last designs Storm worked on before he passed away - the image was finished by his associates of over 20 years after his death, as was his wish and is typical of the distinctive style that he established and which they will be continuing in the coming years.
According to Peter Curzon of StormStudios, "The idea came from the line in the Christmas song - 'Six Geese-a-laying'. The company is called Six as it was set up by six people (and in relation to six degrees of separation), so the geese are like the six members having a business meeting!"
You can view the image below and be sure to check out the exhibition and the special events - information below the picture.
