Check Out Shortlisten - The daily guide to new music
Get ready to turn down the lights and ramp up the anticipation.
The mighty Editors return with the third taste of their new album, in the form of the video for their latest cut Life Is A Fear, available to watch exclusively here on ShortList.com.
Like previous singles No Harm and Marching Orders, both taken from their forthcoming fifth album, In Dream, the band have collaborated with the visual artist Rahi Rezvani. Born in Iran but now a Dutch resident, Rahi has built a formidable reputation as an artist of great merit, turning the darkness of his experience of being expelled from Iran for illegal photography into striking and strident imagery. In his own words, he states: "I am a black and white person, un-scared of dividing the world in good and bad. When you have a past like mine, you don’t have time to think in shades of grey."
The track itself is another strident anthem from the UK five piece; we can't wait for the release of In Dream - which features production by Alan Moulder (The Killers / Foals / Arctic Monkeys) and guest vocals from Rachel Goswell of Slowdive - it'll be available from 2 October on Play It Again Sam Records. In the meantime, get watching below.
