Streetwear Facebook group Wavey Garms make gangster film debut with 'The Long Grass'
Grasses, big coats, and a banging soundtrack: what's not to love?
Wavey Garms – best known as Facebook group turned legitimate force in British streetwear – has released a film called The Long Grass and it looks great, tbf.
In collaboration with London-based director Glenn Kitson, The Long Grass – shot on 16mm – is a treatise on tension, killer dub tunes, and really, really nice jackets. "It's a simple gangster story with an added acid tinge," says the film's press release. Written by Wavey Garms founders Andres Branco and Kitson, the film follows three London lads from their London flat into lots and lots of trouble in the countryside.
"Wavey Garms is the most credible, authentic voice of urban London street style right now," says Kitson. "We wanted to tell a story of youth culture [while] taking something psychedelic and mixing old and new."
