You don't muck about with tattoos.
There's blood, ink, probably tears, usually a lot of money involved and they have a habit of not going away. A bit like a divorce.
So if you were going to hand over your naked flesh for someone to doodle with a needle, you'd probably ask for someone with a great deal of skill and artistry, right? Not the bunch at Appropriate Audiences. They've been getting tattoos from robots.
Having previously hacked a 3D printer to give tattoos, the creative group's latest project has seen them turn an industrial robot - usually found in factory assembly lines - into a tattoo artist. The body part is scanned into a computer, before the tattoo design is applied to the scanned region. The subject is then set up, told not to move, and the robot gets to work.
You'll have to ask Appropriate Audiences very nicely if you want to experience this first hand. They'll probably say no, mind. We'll stick to the good old human artists for now.
