As The Expendables 2, Stallone's action film for retirees lands itself at the top of the US box office over the weekend, news has emerged that the fairer sex might be getting their own explosion-fuelled extravaganza.
Variety has reported that a star-studded female action pic is aiming to do exactly what The Expendables has done for ageing action stars. It's hoping to compete with the mooted third Expendables instalment which apparently has nabbed Nicolas Cage for a role.
Screenwriter Dutch Southern (great name) has been hired by Adi Shankar, producer of Liam Neeson thriller The Grey, to pen a script for the movie. Apparently Shankar is already in talks with a number of "prominent actresses affiliated with the action genre."
Which obviously has us thinking, who would we like to see in the film? We're going for Linda Hamilton, Sigourney Weaver, Uma Thurman, Jamie Lee Curtis, Milla Jovovich, Michelle Rodriguez, Lucy Liu, Cynthis Rothrock and an Angelina Jolie cameo.
What do you think?
