Here's all the most joyously over-the-top reaction to England's World Cup win against Colombia
Up and down the country, England fans erupted in utter euphoria
England have a new national hero. Move over David Attenborough and Queen Elizabeth… it’s time for the glorious reign of goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
The Everton keeper, 24, showed epic nerves of steel last night as he led England to victory at their FIFA World Cup match after a tense 120-minute game that went to all-or-nothing penalties.
The night of high drama at the Spartak Stadium in Moscow was also marked by pretty ugly scenes as Colombia’s Wilmar Barrios somehow stayed on the field despite seemingly headbutting England midfielder Jordan Henderson. The South America side also appeared to scuff the spot of England captain Harry Kane’s penalty, which he scored anyway. SO THERE!
England’s 4-3 World Cup win means we’ll now move on to face Sweden in Samara on Saturday.
And as the national team triumphed last night, the entire country erupted into fits of europhia. You probably heard a fair bit of shouting outside your own house.
Here’s some of the most joyful, over-the-top, ridiculous reaction to England’s win.
