For Jesse Eisenberg's next trick, the actor will be playing a rich megalomaniac intent on exploiting the human race.
No, it’s not a sequel to The Social Network - it's Batman Vs Superman, the forthcoming mega blockbuster where he'll be facing off against the titular duo as slap-headed super villain Lex Luther.
And now we have our first peek at, erm, Eisenberg's peak, with this official image confirming that Eisenberg has gone to town to highlight the extra cranial capacity of his famously bald baddie. Though, as director Zack Snyder told Entertainment Weekly, he’s an entirely different proposition to those that have gone before him.
“He’s not any of the Lexes that you’ve seen, that’s for sure," says Snyder. "Other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself. And bald, of course. Our Lex is disarming and he’s not fake. He says what he believes and he says what’s on his mind.”
Aside from the obvious collision course between Ben Affleck's ageing Dark Knight and Henry Cavill's Man Of Steel, little is yet known about the film due in March 2016; though we do know fellow DC characters slated to appear include Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and Aquaman (Jason Momoa). The latter’s cameo will even tee up 2017’s planned Justice League film.
Cryptically, the director also told EW of Luther that "if you can unravel the string and decipher what he means, it’s all there.”
March 2016 can’t come quick enough.
