What links Peter Dinklage, Pac-Man and a physical point in digital imaging?
Hint: the answer's in the title.
The first trailer for summer blockbuster Pixels has arrived, crammed with retro video game references and snigger-inducing antics.
In order to crowbar in a bunch of oversized visions of retro game characters, writers Patrick Jean, Timothy Dowling (Role Models), Tim Herlihy (Happy Gilmore) have come up with a neat narrative device: aliens.
When extraterrestrials misinterpret footage of classic arcade games as a declaration of hostile intent, they attack the Earth in the guise of said video game titles. Clever, eh?
Pixels' ambitions are made all the more starker with a flick through the cast list: Adam Sandler (stick with us), Dinklage, Michelle Monaghan and Josh Gad star alongside Sean Bean, Jane Krakowski and Kevin James.
