There’s a lot going on in the new trailer for the second season of Aziz Ansari’s endearing sitcom, Master of None.
At just over a minute it’s not a lengthy clip, but in that time we see Dev cycling along cobbled Italian streets, sipping espresso and whizzing through the endlessly picturesque countryside on a moped.
Dating, drinking, dancing and rooftop parties in New York – it’s all very enviable. Oh, and there’s a brief cameo from John Legend.
The stylish montage flicks between black and white and full colour, so visually pleasing, in fact, that you’ll probably hit the replay button at least twice.
In season two, Ansari’s character, an aspiring actor hoovering up bit-part roles as he waits patiently for his big break, returns home after a pasta-filled European adventure. And busy as Dev’s romantic life appears to be, we see him looking visibly dejected in a few shots. The synopsis for the new series explains that at as well as a new career opportunity, we’ll see the New York resident navigate a “complex, developing relationship with someone very meaningful to him.”
Also returning for the latest run of episodes are Eric Wareheim (who pops up plenty of times in the trailer), Lena Waithe and Shoukath and Fatima Ansari, the comedian’s real-life parents who, brilliantly, also play Dev’s parents in the show.
All of Master of None season two will be available to stream on Netflix from May 12.
