It's an age-old icebreaker - which superpower would you have? Flight? Invisibility? Super strength? Sony appear to have asked a similar question of the PlayStation 4: "Which entertainment power should our video games console have?"
The answer is Powers - the first original series created exclusively for the console's PlayStation Plus subscription service.
A cop drama based on a Marvel-owned comic book of the same name, Powers is set in a world in which superpowers are common, but seldom used for good ends. The series follows the investigations of Christian Walker - a former 'superhero' named Diamond who lost his abilities - and Deena Pilgrim, police officers in Chicago's Powers Division -a homicide department devoted to cases that involve "powered" suspects.
Revealed at New York's Comic Con, Sony certainly isn't holding back on its first venture into original programming. It's gritty, violent and far from PG. That said, it won't be teaching any new swear words to most of the 14-year-olds we've played online...
Powers will arrive on the PlayStation Plus network this winter
