Check out the first trailer for the 'Tomb Raider' movie
Looks a damn sight better than the Angelina Jolie one
I don’t know about you, but I’m not the biggest fan of the first Tomb Raider movie from 2001, starring Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft. It had sub-par action scenes, dodgy accents galore, and it starred Angelina Jolie, which I think is a bad thing, no matter the film. As such, I never saw the sequel, but I can be confident when I say that it isn’t exactly regarded as a classic, either.
So, to 2017, aka Reboot City, and the new version of Tomb Raider, starring the vastly better actress Alicia Vikander as our pony-tailed heroine, Croft. This time around, it’s looking a little more promising, what with Vikander being backed up with a pretty stellar cast including personal faves Walton Goggins and Daniel Wu (everyone should watch Into The Badlands, OK?).
After the weird first poster that appears to be an alternative design for Tomb Giraffe, they’ve finally revealed the first trailer, and you know what? It looks quite good, in my humble o-pin-ion:
Agree? It looks to be aping the style of the more recent games, rather than the originals, and that can only be a good thing. We certainly don’t want a scene where some spotty teenager fiddles about on a computer for a bit and then suddenly Lara Croft is naked for the rest of the film. I’ll stick with this version thanks.
Tomb Raider will be in cinemas March next year.
