Flight of the Conchords fans are livid after tickets for their UK tour sell out in seconds
And they're gone...
Psyched fans of New Zealand comedy duo Flight of the Conchords were getting ready to buy tickets for their first UK tour in seven years when they went on sale at 10am this morning.
But within seconds, they completely sold out and the furious hordes took to Twitter to vent their righteous fury.
“How what why exactly did Flight of the Conchords tickets sell out instantly?!” one fan said online.
“It’s a fucking joke that Flight of the Conchords tickets sold out in 30 seconds, but are now on resale sites for double the price. FML,” screamed another.
Times writer Caitlin Moran even got caught out: “Hands up if you also did not get tickets for Flight of the Conchords today :-(“
As often happens, tickets were quickly put up for sale on ticket reselling sites with massive markups.
One fan said: “Logged in at exactly 10, all tickets are sold out for Flight of the Conchords… Dozens on resale sites. Im so angry.”
One popular theory is that hapless band manager Murray - played by Rhys Darby - was in charge of the booking system.
The tour for the Grammy Award winners will see Bret and Jemaine perform at cities including Birmingham, Manchester, Dublin, Glasgow, Leeds and Liverpool.
It kicks off on 19 March with two nights at London’s Eventim Apollo.
And they’ve already given a teaser for what lucky ticket-holding fans can expect.
“We’ve got a few things up our sleeves”, Jemaine Clement told the Press Association.
“We’ve done a little work on some of those ideas. The ideas we have are quite different to the TV show. It’s still music, still a couple of idiots and another idiot and some music.”
It wasn’t all doom and gloom online, though. Fans who did manage to bag tickets shared their joy at the upcoming dates.
One person said: “Scratch that, Flight of the Conchords tickets booked, happy Friday everyone!”
