When you're five you don't care what the difference between Easter and Shrove Tuesday is. All you care about is chocolate shaped eggs and mouthfuls of batter, sugar and ice cream. They're nice times, all told.
Jump forward two decades and times are more complicated. Austerity measures, football teams falling into administration, America remaking Only Fools And Horses with John Leguizamo as Del-Boy. Horrible.
But solace, as always, can be found in the wonderful world of Football Manager 2012, where easter eggs and pancake day have met in blissful union. How? Three ace easter eggs, all about this most delicious day of the year, have been hidden in the game. And we found them first (thumb under nose, fingers waggling like we're five years old). Check them out below.
To get them you need to be playing on pancake day (in real life) and have a match scheduled for pancake day (in the game). You also need to be playing in English language.
Once you have played that match, the match round-up news item will include a reference to pancake day, depending the on the result, as per our screenshots.
As it has to be a Tuesday game in February, it pretty much requires a Champions League fixture. Hurrah for us! Right, back to producing that magazine...
