Throughout the recent bout of comic heroes heading to the small screen (Green Arrow, Agents of SHIELD, Gotham, The Flash, Constantine - to name but a few) one group of lyrca-clad monoliths have remained strangely untouched. Until now.
Word comes from a source at Bleeding Cool (who also spilled the proverbials on a new, confirmed Supergirl series) that Fox is currently working on an X-Men live-action TV series. And by working, we mean they're in "deep development", which we assume means they're doing more than just batting the idea around a whiteboard.
Eat Geek PlayX-Factor .The X-Factor series will definitely feature Jamie Madrox and be sort of like "Fringe in the X-Men world".

So, a mini-series that doesn't focus on the main stars of the X-Men franchise, with a slant toward detective show sleuthing? If it worked for Lois & Clark, Gotham and - on a spin-off not - Angel, it could work for Xavier's school for gifted youngsters.
