This Friday is free fried chicken day - here's how to claim yours
There is such a thing as a free lunch
While Veganuary might be over, we bet there’s a fair few of you who are starting to think maybe – just maybe – it might be possible to keep the no-meat approach going for another month or more.
Indeed, you’ve probably been spurred on by more and more friends talking up vegetarianism, if not veganism, over the last few months.
Well, we’ve got three words that’ll put an end to those dreams: free fried chicken.
If you’re in London, and you’re near enough to Covent Garden to get there this Friday lunchtime (2 February), free fried chicken could be more than just a pipe dream.
It’s part of the opening celebrations of On the Dak, a fried chicken restaurant from the folks behind Korean Street Food chain On the Bab.
The first 100 customers will be able to get their hands on a small portion of sweet soy fried chicken – just for being first through the door.
And it’s not just fast-moving customers in line for a freebie – according to Skint London, On the Dak will also be handing out 50 free meals to homeless charity Rhythms of Life.
The deal will run from 11.30am-1.30pm tomorrow on Monmouth Street, a short walk from Covent Garden.
While a full menu is yet to show up on the On the Dak website, Hot Dinners reports that dishes will include chicken dishes with noodles and rice, plus four different flavours of fried chicken.
If it’s as good as the food at On the Bab, they’ll be sure to have people flocking back.
