Fresh Meat fans rejoice: a movie version of the popular Channel 4 student sitcom may be on its way.
Sam Bain, who created the show with Jesse Armstrong, revealed that they were "working on a couple of ideas".
He continued: "The challenge with a film...is that you want it to be bigger but you also don’t want to destroy the essence of the show you’ve created. The Inbetweeners and In The Loop are good examples of characters going on holiday so that is one option we’re looking at. But we don’t want it to feel like they’ve stopped being the characters from Fresh Meat so it’s a difficult balance to get right."
Fans anxious for a new fix need not worry however, as a third TV series is currently in production and due to be broadcast later this year.
As if this wasn't enough, there are also tentative plans for a spin-off show following the female students after they graduate and move to London - perhaps a comedy This Life will result - and a possible movie version of Peep Show, although the Fresh Meat film is likely to happen first.
Bain and Armstrong have experience in film already, having worked with Chris Morris on Four Lions, so fingers crossed this will be another Inbetweeners Movie and continue Channel 4's run of form.
