Furry Le Coq Sportif trainers feature leather lining and multicoloured soles
The French sports brand adds a calfskin heel to its classic Omega runner shape
With so many limited edition trainers dropping this year, a lot of them have started to blend into one big, expensive mess. Yeezy’s? Seen ‘em. Rick Owens? Stripper boots mate. adidas NMDs? Be nice if they stuck around long enough to buy a pair.
But we’ve just spotted a classic brand making a contemporary statement that doesn’t look bat shit crazy and aren’t already sold out: Le Coq Sportif and their calfskin heel runners.
The French sportswear brand has teamed up with Parisian retailer Starcow on this limited edition pair of Omega trainers, crafted in pure grain leather and coganc suede (basically a posh orange), and they feature luxurious full leather lining and different panels of colours on the sole. But most importantly, they’ve got an ultra-decadent calfskin heel, which looks like something Austin Powers would have had as a rug in the Sixties.
This unique pair of trainers are also presented in a wooden box and cost £175, which also come with a Saphir shoe polish and a cleaning cloth to keep them scuff free, shoetrees and a branded metallic cup.
Better than ordering Yeezy’s. All you get sent with them is an overbearing sense of shame and a dive into your overdraft.
Available now in London’s Footpatrol store and Starcow’s official site, and will launch on Hanon on 17 December
