It seems officials are just as prone to diving as players in the South American football leagues… though this does look a bit painful.
A linesman was struck on the head with what looks to be a till roll at the clash between Nacional and Universidad de Chile in the Copa Sudamericana, causing the game to be abandoned.
He was knocked to the ground by the impact, and received treatment on the pitch before the ref called the game off.
Apparently, it’s the second game in a week to be called off in the Copa because of problems with the crowd. Universidad were leading 2-0 at the time.
