The trailer for next week's 'Game of Thrones' looks like an absolute epic
Hold onto your buttcheeks, people
Ah, the penultimate episode of a Game of Thrones season – is there anything better to put on when you just want to kick back, relax, and forget about the stresses of a long day?
Oh right, yeah, literally anything else. Episode 9 of Season 1 saw Ned Stark lose his head; Episode 9 of Season 2 was the Battle of Blackwater, where Tyrion destroyed Stannis’ fleet with wildfire; Episode 9 of Season 3 was the Red Wedding – the less said about that the better; Episode 9 of Season 4 was the huge battle between the Night’s Watch and the Wildlings at Castle Black, where Ygritte took her final breaths; Episode 9 of Season 5 gave us Shireen being burned at the stake and Dany fleeing the fighting pits of Meereen by riding Drogon for the first time; Episode 9 of Season 6 was the Battle of the Bastards, and the Starks’ triumphant return to Winterfell; and Episode 9 of Season 7… does not exist, because the season is only seven damn episodes long.
So, for this season, Episode 6 is the new Episode 9, which means we can expect shit to go down even before seeing the trailer.
However, I just watched the trailer, and can therefore confirm that shit is 100% going to go down. Everywhere. All over the shop. This looks like an absolutely epic episode, most of which seems to take place north of the Wall.
Highlights include: that awesome shot of Beric with his flaming sword from the season trailer:
Jon and Tormund running at full pelt from something. The Night King, maybe? One of those giant White Walkers? I really hope it’s one of those giant White Walkers.
A flock of men pouring out to help Jon and co., probably? The breathing folk are going to be so outnumbered in this battle, and I have no idea how they’re going to get out of it.
Daenerys, wearing that now trademark Daenerys look.
Oh, and this dude. Dunno who he is, though...
Here’s the full trailer, which we recommend you watch at least five times, because it’s worth it, and because, well, we have so little Game of Thrones left this year that we may as well milk it for everything we can, right?
Valar morghulis.
