Everything was super hush-hush on the 'Game of Thrones' set

This is the secret code name producers used for filming ‘Game of Thrones’ season 8

The countdown’s begun for Game of Thrones season 8 – which is said to be the biggest, most epic season ever – and absolutely everyone is falling over themselves to find out how it’s all going to end.

Redditors and fan sites are running rampant with wild theories and paparazzi have even captured glimpses of actors spotted at filming locations across Europe, leading to speculation about the fates of some of our favourite Westerosians.

But secrecy within the David Benioff and D.B. Weiss-helmed Game of Thrones camp was at all time high in order to prevent any and all leaks, according to Sansa actress Sophie Turner.

Speaking to Vulture at New York Comic Con, 22-year-old Turner said: “The secrecy is crazy.

“We have a whole different name for it when we’re shooting it. I think this season it was like The Tree of Life or something.”

Revealing that the actors had to change their names on scripts, she went on to explain how the producers used a “drone killer” to shoot down any unauthorised robotic craft trying to catch a glimpse of the filming.

“I don’t know how it does it. It creates like this field around and the drones just drop,” she said. “Also, we shoot fake scenes. We got into costume in Croatia because we know the paparazzi lurk around there, so we would spend like half a day doing nothing.”

Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams found a fun way to chill in between filming

And as if we didn’t love Sansa enough, she spoke about how she bonded with her Stark co-star Maisie Williams (Arya).

“We’re kind of like loners on Game of Thrones, just because the past few seasons Maisie and I have sleepovers every night when we’re shooting. Or every night whenever both of us are in town. We just used to sit there and eat and watch stupid videos and smoke weed,” said Turner. “I don’t know if my publicist will kill me for saying this. We’d get high and then we’d sit in the bath together and we’d rub makeup brushes on our faces. It’s fun.”
