The weird and wonderful world of gay terminology can sometimes be utterly mind-boggling (even for me - and I’ve known I was gay for as long as I can remember).

And this history of gay words and phrases goes back hundreds of years to the once-secret language called ‘polari’ – a form of slang (a bit like Cockney rhyming) used by gay men to disguise their activities from the police, back when homosexuality was illegal. Nowadays, gay men and other LGBT+ people still have lots of terms used to describe a whole host of things they do from sex to coming out to body types.

So, we thought it would be a little bit of fun (and perhaps even informative) to quiz you on your knowledge of gay sex and lifestyle terms. Let us know how you get on!
