Ricky Gervais reckons David Haye has what it takes to stop Wladimir Klitschko in this weekend's massive world heavyweight title clash, in Hamburg.
Gervais, who sparred with The Hayemaker for a Sky One show this week, and who took part in a 2002 charity boxing match against entrepreneur Grant Bovey (he won by a split decision verdict), said: "Haye is the most exiting British boxer of a generation. He's kept the speed of a cruiserweight with the punching power of any heavy weight around.
"He's smart too. It will be a tough fight but he should outclass Klitschko. He'd better tell me which round so I can get to the bookies."
Ricky was speaking to ShortList ahead of next week's issue, which features the man himself reprising the role of David Brent, exclusively for us, on the cover. It marks the 10th anniversary of The Office and, we promise, is a photoshoot you won't want to miss.
Haye, meanwhile, features in this week's issue and takes on Klitschko on Sky Box Office on Saturday at 8pm. The winner walks away with the WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight belts.
