Goalkeeper scores flying backheel ‘goal of the season’
Last night, the football world witnessed something extraordinary. In fact, that's an understatement.
While most last minute equalisers scored by goalkeepers will always produce ‘I was there’ moments, imagine being one of the fans who witnessed the Dutch top-flight encounter between ADO Den Haag and PSV last night, as the home side’s marauding shot-stopper popped up in the 95th minute with what is already being hailed as goal of the season. Or, judging by some online comments, goal of the century.
Catching the ball with a sweet, physics-defying backheel volley to level against PSV, Danish goalie Martin Hansen basically Zlatan'd it, sending the home crowd into rapture and his opponents into a bittersweet stupor of disbelief and awe.
Outrageous skill? Danish nationality? Wild celebrations? Plays in goal? We're struggling to think of someone to compare him to.
Check out the video in all its glory below before trying to replicate it in FIFA. You won't.
