Gus Fring and Saul Goodman made a surprise appearance at the Los Pollos Hermanos pop-up
Breaking Bad's notoriously obsessive fans got the treat of a lifetime at SXSW
If you watched [SPOILERS] Breaking Bad’s Gus Fring get his face blown off by Hector Salamanca’s wheelchair bomb in season 4, it’s probably fair to assume that you weren’t expecting to see him back in a branch of Los Pollos Hermanos any time soon.
However, you’d be mistaken.
Fans of the hit AMC show are being treated to a real life version of one of the drug kingpin’s fictional fried chicken shops.
The Los Pollos Hermanos restaurant chain served as the facade for stoney-faced psychopath Gus Fring’s multi-million dollar meth empire, and has now been brought to life as a pop-up for Texas’ SXSW festival.
As if that wasn’t exciting enough, visitors were stunned when two of the show’s main characters turned up in the flesh.
Bob Odenkirk, who played crooked but hilarious lawyer Saul Goodman, was scheduled to be appearing at the pop-up, but no one was expecting him to be accompanied by one of the show’s main antagonists.
Giancarlo Esposito, the guy who played the fictional fried chicken chain’s owner and cold-blooded meth distributor Gus Fring, rocked up too – much to the delight of the visitors.
Just take a look at these snaps of the man himself back on his old stomping ground.
