Hazza, The Big H, Stylo-G, HS Sauce, Harry Styles - he does a lot, doesn’t he? Got a lot on his plate, has old Styles. He’s got the music thing, the acting thing and now, he’s got the executive producing a sitcom thing. A sitcom called Happy Together, that focuses on the period in his life just as he began to hit the big time.
Essentially, just after The X Factor, Harry began living in the attic of friend Ben Winston, the Emmy-winning executive producer of The Late Late Show With James Corden (and also Happy Together) and his wife. What was supposed to be a temporary arrangement ended up lasting 20 months. Winston told Rolling Stone:
“Those 20 months were when they went from being on a reality show, X Factor, to being the biggest-selling artists in the world.
“That period of time, he was living with us in the most mundane suburban situation. No one ever found out, really. Even when we went out for a meal, it’s such a sweet family neighborhood, no one dreamed it was actually him. But he made our house a home. And when he moved out, we were gutted.”
For the show (which is only inspired by the truth) they’ve changed the locations and names of the characters - so this isn’t the Harry Styles Show, but the original seed is still there. Here’s the trailer:
The show stars Damon Wayans Jr. and Amber Stevens West as the couple, and Felix Mallard as Cooper, Harry’s counterpart. It hits TV screens in the US this autumn, but there’s no word yet on a UK release date. SO YOU’RE JUST GOING TO HAVE TO WAIT, BUSTER.
