No, it's not a reboot in which the repressed teen finally snaps, steals the station wagon and embarks on a joyride – but a sequel years in the making.
Ed Helms stars as a fully grown-up Rusty, who upon learning that the famous amusement park is going to close, decides to follow in the footsteps of his father Clark and take his own brood on a cross country road trip. Which, naturally, is anything but straight forward.
Though it wouldn't be a Lampoon's film without a cameo by Chevy Chase himself. While the new cast, featuring Christiana Applegate as Rusty's wife Debbie,, Chris Hemsworth as an anchorman and Charlie Day as a river raft guide, should also hold their own gag-wise.
And so without further ado, the red band trailer for your nostalgic pleasure. Holiday Road is played and even a new variation of the bombshell red sports car woman appears. We won't spoil it for you, but that bit is excellent.
