So while we don't know you personally, we're willing to make a safe bet that the only thing you love more than pizza is bacon. True, right?
Well, thanks to thefreerangehuman, we have a recipe that's about to make you obscenely happy.
Instead of conforming to societal pressure and using dough as a pizza base, how about using a lattice of bacon? That's the genius concept behind this delicious meal and we have the details on exactly how to make it.
Ingredients
12-14 slices thick bacon
Marinara sauce enough to cover pizza
Fresh basil, chopped
Uncured pepperoni
Mushrooms, sliced
1/2 cup cheese, grated
Method
Preheat oven to 220 degrees. While oven is preheating, slice mushrooms and set aside. Weave bacon into a lattice and place on a rack in a baking sheet. Bake bacon lattice in oven for 20-25 minutes.
The cooking time will vary depending on your oven and how quickly your bacon tends to cook. You want to bake long enough to cook until slightly crisp but not all the way through. Remove and let cool slightly.
Add sauce, cheese, pepperoni, mushrooms, basil, and anything else you like on pizza. Place back in oven and grill for an additional 5 minutes or until cheese is brown and bubbly. Enjoy!
