If anything holds true in this place we call Earth, it’s that when the creator of the cronut adds another food stuff to his repertoire, you grab your wallet and hold off on the diet.
Particularly when Dominique Ansel’s latest culinary oddity happens to be the canned ice cream sundae, mixing the delicious frozen dessert staple and its saccharine goodness with the innards of a metal can. Practical and sugary? Perfect.
Unsurprisingly, it’s not your average Sundae either, comprising root beer and stracciatella ice cream, mascarpone semifreddo, toasted marshmallow, mascerated cherries and miniature cherry meringues in said tin.
But be warned – it’s only being sold on 2 August, where, for one day only, the chef will be operating a pop-up ice cream van in East Hampton, 67 Main St, from 12pm onwards.
We’ll see you in line.
