Incredible 40-Metre Free Kick

It's okay, we'd never heard of Dariusz Kołodziej before today either.

He's not some hot new prospect that a Championship side picked up on the sly during the closing minutes of the transfer window - though the following video suggests he should have been.

We think the 32-year-old midfielder was roughly 40 metres from goal when he stepped up to take this free kick for Polish club Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biała against Romania's Pandurii Targu Jiu, in a friendly organised to keep the teams warm during their winter break. Everyone looks lined up for a long ball drifted into the box, with the keeper sending out a single man to act as a wall. He should have sent more.

We're off to the park to waste the rest of the day attempting to recreate Kołodziej's effort.
