We're all well acquainted with the majesty of an expertly executed own goal in football, but now it seems other sports are getting in on the act too.
We can safely say that we've never seen this before in basketball, but James Young of college team Kentucky Wildcats managed to net a sensational score in his own hoop in a match against Montevallo.
Even his notoriously hard-talking coach John Calipari apparently saw the funny side of the incident: the school's website quoted him as saying that the play "made me laugh. I thought he made a 3 (pointer) out there."
