Incredible Charted Connections of 727 Rock Musicians
Incredible Charted Connections of 727 Rock Musicians
The world of rock really is an incestuous place. But in a good way (ie. not literally).
Musicians have been happily cross-fertilising ever since the emergence of the genre in the 60s; changing bands, collaborating, starting new acts and guesting on each other's tracks.
So it truly is a tangled web that the people at Pop Chart Lab have attempted to document - and what a job they've done, with this incredible poster, mapping the interactions of 727 different rock musicians over the years.
It's hard to say for certain, but the biggest 'hubs' appear to be Whitesnake/Deep Purple et al's David Coverdale, Cream/Derek & The Dominos' old 'slow hand' himself, Eric Clapton and good old 'nicest man in rock' Dave Grohl of Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Them Crooked Vultures and the rest.
You can buy the 39 inch square print for $48 dollars from the Pop Chart Lab website.
