The first full trailer for 'Incredibles 2' is here and it's, er, incredible
More Pixar magic on the way
The Winter Olympics is on over in PyeongChang, showcasing the talents of a host of athletes with damn-near superhuman abilities. Have you seen the flips those snowboard dudes can do? They’re awesome bro.
So it seems like an appropriate time for Disney to drop the first full trailer for Incredibles 2, which is the direct sequel, 14 years on from the 2004 original which, as is usually the case with Pixar, was a critical and box office smash.
The sequel will kick off just moments after the original ended and sees Helen Parr, aka Elastigirl, take the spotlight, heading out to fight crime and campaign for the return of supers, while her husband Bob is left at home looking after their kids Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack, who seems to have a serious range of secret powers.
Holly Hunter, Craig T. Nelson, Sarah Vowell, Samuel L. Jackson and John Ratzenberger will all reprise their roles from the first film, while there are new additions to the cast - including two Breaking Bad stars - in the form of Huck Milner, Bob Odenkirk, Catherine Keener, Sophia Bush, Jonathan Banks and Isabella Rossellini.
Maybe there’ll be a crystal meth subplot? We can but hope.
Enough talking, let’s watch the trailer:
A previous teaser trailer which emerged in November last year became the most viewed trailer for an animated film in the first 24 hours - we suspect this one will do similar business.
Incredibles 2 will hit cinemas in the US on 15 June while, for some reason, it won’t come out in the UK until 13 July. Maybe they’re avoiding the World Cup? That’s our best guess. Oh well, we’ll need cheering up after England go out so maybe it’s a good idea. See you in the front row.
