Onion rings are one of those things we can either take or leave, they're not essential. If someone left the chips out of your order you'd, quite rightly, report them to the local constabulary. But if they left out onion rings, well, meh.
Except now a culinary mastermind/greedy guts called Tym Bussanich might just have promoted their culinary importance. He's invented an abomination of nature known as the onion ring and burger patty.
Aside from dark magic, what this involves is taking an onion circle, covering it in bacon and patty meat and then deep frying it.
Could well be a hit in Scotland.
