On August 1 BT Sport goes live, and brings with it 38 exclusively live Barclays Premier League football matches, including 18 top picks. Tempting n'est-ce pas?
Jake Humphrey is the face of BT Sport’s Barclays Premier League coverage and we sat down with the big tweeter to find out which Twitter accounts he thinks everyone should follow.
Rio Ferdinand (@rioferdy5)
If you want insight into what it's like to be a top player, there's nobody better. When United won the title he was posting pictures from the dressing room! The magic to his twitter feed really lies in the fact you see what others don't.
BBC Sporf (@BBCSporf)
Surely Twitter's most entertaining account? They use the BBC logo, slightly tweaked. And so often it will catch me off guard. Oh my fucking God! The BBC have said what?!? Then I'll realise it's this parody account. It's absolute gold.
The Pink'Un (@pinkun)
As a Norwich fan in exile, this is my link to news from Carrow Road. Err, probably not of much interest to non-Norwich fans, but for me it's vital. Let's move on.
Darragh MacAnthony (@DMAC102)
This is the Peterborough United chairman. Boy does he wear his heart on his sleeve. And he does it on Twitter! He talks about players he's trying to sign and players people are trying to sign from him! He slates agents and managers! Remember when Forest were going to sign George Boyd from Posh? They cancelled at the last minute claiming Boyd failed an eyesight test. MacAnthony went to Twitter to let fly. "Twenty years he's been a professional footballer" he tweeted "and suddenly his eyesight is no good?!?". He's excellent value.
Autosport (@autosportnews)
All the latest news in British motorsport, I think it's crucial people know as much as possible about F1 and Touring Cars and the like. They're complicated sports and the more you know the more you enjoy them. If people don't understand these sports, viewing figures fall. If viewing figures fall team sponsors drop off and if team sponsors drop off teams disappear. You increase audience through education. That's where the love of motorsport comes from. Autosport massively do their part.
